Sarah Jane McCleery was a former resident of and
schoolteacher in Ogden, NY, during the late 1880's. She wrote a newspaper
(journal) that today reflects the rhetoric and charm of the late 19th
century.
The performance is a theatrical interpretation of excerpts
taken from Miss McCleery's journal.

Comments:
"Ann's preparation for these programs is exhaustive, right down to the
covered buttons and underskirts of the character costumes to the use of
the authentic period props. Her presentations are always well acted and
historically accurate, and she follows up with a question-and-answer
session where she addresses queries about historical facts, costumes, and
sources.
"One of Ann's strengths is her ability to tailor the
performance to the audience. She performs equally well to adults and
children."
