Early Music Career
A Kendall, NY native, Mitchell began singing as a free lance vocalist
at the age of 16. She joined the TOPA Community Theatre group in
Medina, NY, where she met her voice teacher, Rita Lowe.

Ann attended SUNY Brockport, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre.
Shortly after Graduation, Ann found her niche in jazz performance as
the vocalist for the former 12 piece big band, BRASS MENAGERIE.

Departing from Menagerie to raise a family, she took the time to create
original historical (and musical) programs that have been utilized by
women’s organizations, churches, and school curriculums. Returning from
her band performance hiatus, Ann became the featured singer for the BOB
AMES & CO. jazz combo before recently establishing her own jazz
quartet, ANN MITCHELL JAZZ.

Ann’s creative passion has always taken her back to the memorable women
vocalists such as Judy Garland, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page and Doris
Day. Ann continues to pass on their legacy of song through her
original program, REMEMBER THE LADIES -- Those Fabulous Females of the
40’s & 50’s!

Ann recorded and produced her first album with her daughter Kerri Lynn
Slominski on V-Rae Records in 2003. EVER THE WINDS was created as an
Alzheimer's Awareness benefit that features songs of love and hope.
